“Marge and Family, I just learned of Joe's passing. Please accept Laura's and my deepest condolences. Joe was the first faculty member that I met when I joined the faculty of the (then) College of Pharmacy in 1973. Through the years that we worked together Joe was always the most helpful and friendliest colleague. He was a wonderful role model for students and faculty alike. He had encyclopedic knowledge about natural products, pharmacognosy, and just about anything in the natural sciences.”
