Kenneth Pope Obituary
We announce the death of Kenneth Pope of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 66. Kenneth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Hilda Gray Harrelson Pope; his grandparents, George and Vernell Harrelson; and his close friend Joe Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Carole Pope; his son Zeke; his daughter-in-law Silvia; his granddaughters, Luisa Lynn and Elina; and his siblings, Sharon Pope (Chuck), Michael Pope (Karen) and Gary Pope (Kim). He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an educational fund that is being established for Kenny's granddaughters. At present, donations can be made to Carole Pope, P.O. Box 478, Carrboro, North Carolina, 27510.
