It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Malachy Jerome Foley of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on June 16, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Foley, Jr. and Margaret T. Schmidt Foley. He is survived by: his wife Carmen; his daughters, Aileen (Adam Gsegner) of Durham, NC and Stephanie (Antonio Vela) of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Sofia, Mateo, Lucas and Nicolas; and his brothers, J. Patrick Foley III, Jeffrey E. Foley (Joan) and Gregory D. Foley (Jolinda). He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, eight grand nieces and grand nephews, and one great-grand niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ALS Association- NC Chapter.
