We bid farewell to Melvin Sylvester Hurston of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 16, 2025 at the age of 72. Melvin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Arthur Hurston and Suellen Gaut Hurston; his siblings, Brenda Hurston-Feggins and Michael Hurston; and his nephew Mark Feggins.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Summers-Hurston; his siblings, Beverly Hurston, Barbara Foster, Nancy Hurston-Carter and Karl Hurston (Debra); and his extended family, Bernard and Jezzicka Watson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
