He was predeceased by : his parents, George Drake Scott and Mary Ann Scott (Keck). He is survived by : his wife Margaret; his former life partner Hattie Warner of Chapel Hill, N. C.; his children, David (Mary Hart Scott) of Smyrna, Steve Scott (Ellen Pautler) of Chapel Hill, N. C., John (Melissa Loggins) of Granite Falls, N. C. and Cynny Scott (Rich Beckman) of Tucson, Ariz.; and his grandchildren, Kelly Scott of Atlanta, Nick Scott (Kathryn Scott) of Atlanta, Sean Scott of Durham, N. C., Claire Scott of Austin, Tex, Simmons Scott of Granite Falls, N. C. and Mary Elizabeth Bultemeier of Miami, Fla.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
