He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross O. Bell and Sarah Hyde Bell; and his brother Ross O. Bell, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dr Gail A. McGuinness; his children, Kendall Myers (Tony) and Kirkpatrick Bell (Jarrod Harms); and his grandchildren, Claire (Wes Spading), Bryn (Travis Hattery) and Max Myers.
Bill received numerous awards and recognitions over his career including the John B. Hower Award in 1996 presented annually for the greatest contribution to the development and advancement in the field of Child Neurology both national and internationally.
