He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse "JT" Thomas Howard and Adell Carden Howard; his sisters-in-law, Edna Howard and Pat Howard; and his nephew Barry Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Lisa Kay Andrews of Pittsboro and William Lawrence Howard, Jr. of Pittsboro; his stepdaughter Kelly Truesdale (Jason) of Chapel Hill; his grandsons, Thomas Andrews (Brittany), Ethan Truesdale, Eric Truesdale and Eli Truesdale; his great grandchildren, Jesse Andrews and Lennox "Sissy" Andrews; and his brothers, Vernon Howard and Johnny Howard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
