We announce the death of Barbara Atkins Royster (Charlotte, North Carolina), who passed away on July 13, 2026, at the age of 82. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schaeffer and Bessie Lee Atkins; and her brother Benjamin Atkins. She is survived by: her husband Ralph Royster; her pet Sparky; her son Derek Royster (Leanne); her grandchildren, Derek Jr., Jake, Kyle and Justin Royster (Shannon); her great grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily and Caitlyn; her granddaughter Megan Nichols (Clay); her great grandchildren, Fisher and Bennett; her sisters, JoAnna Griggs, Patricia McDevitt and Billie Barbee; and her caregivers, Che'rie Tyson and Grace Layden. She is also survived by her family she was Mom.

In lieu of flowers, private prayers for the family and a donation to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
