She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert "Bob" Gantt (Alma Price Gantt) and Alma Gantt of Charlotte; and her grandmother Anna Harris Price. She is survived by: her husband Paul L. Whitfield; her daughter Elizabeth C. Whitfield of Charlotte; her stepson Gregory "Greg" Whitfield; her daughter-in-law Leigh Lowder Whitfield of Mooresville; her grandsons, Michael G. Whitfield, Jr. of Raleigh and Richard L. Whitfield of Chapel Hill; and her siblings, Sheila Kale of Charlotte and Greg Gantt (Polly) of Little River, SC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
