She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Lester Brooks and Frances Brown Brooks. She is survived by: her sisters, Beverly Bilbro (Tom) of Charlotte, June Moore (Barry) of Charlotte and Susan Brooks of Charlotte; her nephews, Jonathan Bilbro (Rona) of Orlando, FL and Joseph Bilbro (Amelia) of Lancaster, SC; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Maya, Maren, Silas, Lilian, Elin, Shepherd and Evangeline Bilbro.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Belmont Abbey College, Carol Brooks Scholarship Fund (100 Belmont-Mt. Holly Rd. Belmont, NC 28012) and Via Health Partners (7485 Little Ave., Charlotte, NC 28226).

“I worked with Carol at the Abbey for several years and have always admired and respected her. When I visited France in 2018, I thought of her so many times. She loved all things french. She gave me a french green bean slicer and I think of her every time I use it and it brings a smile to my face. She had a wonderful way with words and I loved reading her correspondence with donors. She had a way of making everyone around her feel very special. Heaven gained a special angel.”
