He was predeceased by: his daughter Janet Lee Gill; his brothers, Howard, Bill and Joe; and his half-sisters, June and Natalie.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Leonhardt Gill; his sons, David Herbert Gill (Susan Hawes) of Charlotte and James Everette Gill (Tammy Duncan Gill) of Marietta, SC; his granddaughters, Danielle Elise Gill and Aubree Taylor Gill Gantenbein (Curdin Gantenbein); and his great grandchildren, Amelia Jane Gantenbein of Jacksonville, Fla and Lucy Reese Gantenbein of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
