With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Clare Scott Houston (Charlotte, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 20, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James F. Powell, Jr. and Clare Scott J. Powell; and her sister Martha Powell. She is survived by: her siblings, Joan Skinner (Bryant), Jim Powell (Roberta), Ralph Powell (Debbie) and Joe Powell (Jeanette); her husband Carl Wayne Houston; her children, Ashley Houston Franklin (Matt) and Christopher Houston (Jenn); her grandchildren, Meg Scott, Aaron, Kayna, Samuel and Coen; and her caregiver Clare.
