He was predeceased by: his mother Rebecca Taylor Elks; his brother Charles Ervin Elks; and his nephew Matthew Irvan. He is survived by: his father Charles Ervin Elks; his wife Barbara Wellons Elks; his sons, Hugh Daniel and Charles Taylor; his granddaughter Mariana Gabriella Elks; and his sister Clara Capps (Jimmy).
