He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Jones and Dean Jones of Virginia; his wife Ann Webb Jones; and his siblings, Alfred, Raymond Jones, Nora Cromer, Evelyn Maxey, Mildred Brooks and Nellie Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Kay Lewis and Jay Jones (Kelly); his grandchildren, Brannon Sharp (Susan), Chris Jones (Lindsay), Lindsay Jones (James), Anne Turner (Brian), Grace Mollohan (Jay) and Jayme Schreck (Mike); and his sister Thelma Jones. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
