He is survived by: his wife Sarah Kildea of New York City; his son John (Shary) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Mark Gentry of Dallas and Alison Foley (Brendan) of Dallas; his son David Gentry of Charlotte; and his cousin Nina Revis of Simpsonville.
