It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Franklin Wayne Scharton of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Martha "Martie" Scharton; his children, Craig Scharton of Charlotte, Kristin Echols of Worley and Derek Scharton of Fresno; his grandchildren, Cole (Amanda), Eric (Cristina), Stephanie, Connor (Olivia), Hailey and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Malcolm, Gwen, Clark, Emmett and Violet; and his sister Arline Segale of Santa Barbara. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Franklin's memory to the Kirkland Foundation (Kirkland.org).
