He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kermit Lynn Murphy and Jean Hartsook Murphy; his wife Ann Keever Murphy; his daughter Carter (Manish Menon); his grandchildren, Cason Duffy Carpenter, Eleanor "Nora" Murphy Carpenter, Priya Ann Menon and Mina Cecilia "Cece" Menon; his sisters, Janet Murphy (Gregg Drees) and Judy (John Worsley); his sisters-in-law, Leigh Yost, Jane Murphy and Martha Keever; his pet Dixie; and his brothers, Kermit "Kit" Lynn Murphy Jr. and David Steven Murphy.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Park Presbyterian Church (2501 Oxford Pl, Charlotte, NC 28207).
