She was predeceased by: her parents, Naomi Ruth Gaddy McCoy and Daniel Webster McCoy. She is survived by: her husband Steve Clyburn; her brothers, Dan McCoy, Jr. (Diana) and Bruce McCoy (Linda); her nieces and nephews, Dr. Erin McCoy (Joey Schumacher), Allison McCoy Kitchen (Peter), Matt McCoy (Katie) and Morgan McCoy Allman (Kyle); her cousins, Jeff Keller, Bryan Block and Marshall; her sisters, Rosemary Lauth, Patti Digh and Rebecca Alexander; and her pets, Westie Lizzie, Scottie Evie, TabbyBoyz Ceci and Cinnamon. She is also survived by in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for a permanent home for Union County Playmakers in Gay's honor and memory has been established.
