He was predeceased by: his parents, Brinford Balser (Buck) and Elsie Ramsey Balser; his brother Preston Balser; his former wife Jean Balser; his grandson Aaron Balser; and his great grandchild Ansley Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Carpenter (David), Mark Balser (Tina) and Nancy Young (Johnny); his stepdaughter Kathy Wilkinson (John); his grandchildren, Wesley Carpenter (Andrea), Meredith Broadway (Matt), Emily Hostetter (Josh), Valerie Young (Doug Friedrich), Daniel Balser (Brittany), Lindsey Alexander (Drew) and John Riley Wilkinson (Audrey); and his great grandchildren, Aidan, Benen, Ellard, Elias, Huntley, John Barrett, Kaeler, Lillian, Nevin, Olin and Vera.
