She was predeceased by: her father Louis Crump; her husband Bobby Gene Carter Sr.; her son Ricky Wayne Carter; her grandson Robbie Carter; and her siblings, Mary Patterson, Agnes Jones, Loraine Rivadeneira, Chester Crump, Clyde Crump, Pat Turner, Judy Harris and Vonnie Crump.

She is survived by: her children, Bobby Carter Jr. (Petitsa), Sherry Barnes (Dennis) and Lisa Powell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
