He was predeceased by: his son David; his parents, George Bayless and Ina Bayless of Staunton, VA; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Marvin, Bernie and Warren (Smiley).
He is survived by: his wife Winnie; his children, Pam of Gastonia, NC and Mike (Priscilla) of Asheville, NC; his daughter-in-law Gail Moyer of Hertford, NC; his grandsons, Drew Moyer of Hertford, NC and Davis Moyer (Lindsay) of Suffolk, VA; his nieces, Vrla Leach (Fred) of Staunton, VA and Pat Yount (Mark Yount) of Lilburn, GA; his nephew George Moyer of Barboursville, VA; his great-nephews, Ashley Leach and Andrew Leach; and his great-niece Tracy Leigh Wills.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in Abe and Winnie's honor to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation-Craggy Gardens Renovation fund: Abe and Winnie spent their honeymoon travelling the parkway, and many family trips throughout the years exploring the Parkway. https://www.brpfoundation.org.
