He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Austin Sherrill and Jessie Howard Sherrill; his wife Dorothy Evans Sherrill; and his siblings, Margaret and Glenn.
He is survived by: his children, Butch, Marsha Shinn (Tom), Howard'Butch' (Marian), Robert and Susan Vernon (Donnie); his grandchildren, Tommy, Jennifer, Adrienne, Patrick, Meredith, Justin and Jeremy; and his close friend Louise Renfrow. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
