We announce the death of Joan A. Kimmey of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 93. Joan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Renten and Margaret Renten; her husband Robert Kimmey; her son Fred Aufrecht; and her grandchildren, Dana and Heather.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Aufrecht (Diane), Michael J. Aufrecht (Beth), Cayetana Renten, William Renten Jr. (Donna), Margie Renten Tellam and Juanita Renten Pope; her grandchildren, Linda, Trica, Lil Dennis, Wendy, Bud, Jennifer, Kimberly, McKenzie and Colton; and her great grandchildren, Paige, Caitlyn, Ryan, Andrew, Addison, Jadalyn, Ellie, Anthony and Annalise.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home (10520 Arahova Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
