He is survived by: his daughter Christina Milton; his granddaughter Inda Milton of Gibsonville, NC; his close friend Marian Miller of Laurens, SC; and also Fraternity. He is also survived by brothers, and close friends.

“I had a respectful relationship with.Jake. He carried me through my first-ever basketball game as a ref and as all these passed, he reminded of that every time I saw him. Quick story: Back in the day there was a basketball game at JC Smith. One of the refs could not get there due to bad weather. Jake was called in as a replacement and when he walked he got such an ovation. Of course, he was good and he was funny. Kind of reminded me of Jackie Gleason . Someone so special will not be forgotten.”
