Judy Byrd Paxton Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Judy Byrd Paxton (Charlotte, North Carolina) is shared. Judy, born on August 6, 1942, passed away on July 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Judy will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Judy by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Judy is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Judy’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Judson Amos Byrd and Mary Alice Cook Byrd; and her son Cameron Scott Paxton. She is survived by: her husband Richard Paxton; her daughter Kristin Paxton-Shaw; her granddaughter Paxton Oliphant (Gilmore); and her great grandchild Gilmore Oliphant IV. She is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Judy's memory.
