Katie Thornburg Tucker Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katie Thornburg Tucker of Charlotte, North Carolina, born in Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on December 1, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Katie leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Zora Cox Thornburg and Johnny Cox; and her husband William Tucker (Tuck). She is survived by: her daughter Shawn Patrice Tucker Pierce (Wyman Pierce) of Dallas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 12:30 PM and on Saturday, January 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM.
