He was predeceased by: his father William Donnie "Don" Porter. He is survived by: his mother Mary Elizabeth Martin Porter; his wife Julie Downing Porter; his children, Stephanie Porter, Anna Porter Crowell (Andrew) and Ryan Porter; his grandchildren, Aubrey of Charlotte, NC and Logan Crowell of Charlotte, NC; his brother Bill Porter (Anya Breitenbach) of Charleston, SC; his nephew Richard; and his niece Barbara Downing of Charlotte, NC.

The family asks that all attending keep the health and safety of others in consideration while attending services during Covid-19.
