It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ashness (Charlotte, North Carolina), who passed away on June 8, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Ashness to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Russell and Margaret Russell (Bowen); her husband Walter Ashness; and her siblings, Jane Cantino, Anna Connolly, John Russell, Henry Russell, Margaret McNamee and Patrick Russell.

She is survived by: her children, Mark Ashness (Margaret), Gerard Ashness and Debra Ashness; and her grandchildren, Jimmy Ashness and Meg Ashness. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church in c/o Monsignor McSweeney World Hunger Drive.
