She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Buchanan and Edith Buchanan; her husband Daryl B. Howard; her brothers, Ira Buchanan, Jr. and Terry Buchanan; and her brothers-in-law, Pete McConnell and Sonny Nance.

She is survived by: her sister Gearldine Ellis (Ken) of Bakersville, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Buchanan of Spruce Pine, NC, Faye McConnell of Huntersville, NC and Judy Nance of Mooresville, NC.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel (10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Magnolia Memorial Gardens (5801 Pineville-Matthews Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226).
