He is survived by: his wife Jane Mitchell Howard; his daughter Allegra Blythe Howard Hinson (Charlotte); his grandsons, William Carl "Liam" Hinson V (Greensboro) and Rowan Pierce Hinson (Asheville); his daughter Hilary Howard (New York); and his grandchildren, Callum Kane Leftwich Murphy of New Paltz, N. Y. and Allegra Jean Righteous Murphy of New York, N. Y..
