She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Lee Askew; and her parents, Sidney C. Huntley and Helen W. Huntley. She is survived by: her daughter Desiree Freeman; her son-in-law David Freeman; her grandchildren, Jesse Freeman (Stephanie Freeman), Chase Freeman and Chelsea Freeman; and her great grandchildren, Angelique Freeman, Aidan Freeman and Dylan Freeman.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery (4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205).
