He is survived by: his wife Karen Grier Smith; his stepdaughters, Ashley, Kelly (Chris) and Robyn (Jason); his grandchildren, Austin, Ayden, Hayley, Landyn and Rylee; his siblings, Madeliene Dassow (Duane) and Connie Lyons; his nieces and nephews, Patrick, Greg, Jennifer (Derrick), Kelly (Kevin) and Allison; his great-niece Faith; and his great-nephew Jonah.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, his most favorite charity.
