He was predeceased by: his father Robert "Heavy" Lawing. He is survived by: his friend Ziad Rabie; his mother Nell Simpson Lawing; his husband Matthew Robbins of Charlotte; his brother Tom Lawing; his sister-in-law Jackie Lawing of Waxhaw; and his sister Cathy Henderson of Denver. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and extended family and friends.
