He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Spangler Winters and Kathryn Truax; and his former wives, Pearl Georgeson Winters and Patty Winters. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth M. Winters; his children, Robert M. Winters, Jr. (Donna), Rebecca Sousa (Daniel), Melanie Davis (Randy) and Ellen Louise Winters (Francois Phan); and his stepchildren, Tony Herrin, Susan Davidson (Ken), Ann Honeycutt (Richard) and George Herrin. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
