It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Pennell of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Arthur Pennell and Maggie Pennell; his wife Helen Smith Pennell; and his siblings, Frank, Grady, Leonard, Solon, Donald and Ruby.
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Pennell of Charlotte, Kay Ostwalt (Smitty) of Spruce Pine and Tina Courtney (John) of Denver; his grandchildren, Maggie Yantis (Douglas), Jacki Ostwalt, Victoria Ostwalt, Daniel Courtney (Madi) and Haley Traynham (Spencer); and his great grandchildren, Behr and Zoey Yantis.
