We announce the death of Rosemary Ann Dedrick of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Montraville Shackleton and Eleanor Idler Shackleton Johnson; her husband Royal Fred Dedrick; and her son David Albert Dedrick. She is survived by: her sons, Paul Dedrick of Grand Cayman, Glenn Dedrick (Karen) of Belmont, NC and Jonathan Dedrick (Christi) of Fort Mill, SC; her grandchildren, Angela Dedrick of Indianapolis, IN, Heather Dedrick Horne (Aaron) of Belmont, NC and Dana Dedrick of Easley, SC; her sister Martha Jane Shackleton of Alva, FL; and her great grandchildren, Callan and Tucker Horne. She is also survived by her extended family, a wealth of lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at 258 W Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's hospital, Mercy Ships, or Shriner's Children's Hospital in memory of Rosemary, as these were some of the favorite charities she supported during her lifetime.
