He is survived by: his spouse Willie Mae Gardner; his sons, Kevin W. Pettis (Janice) and Dr. Karlton S. Pettis (Pamela); his sisters, Dorothy P. Perry and Evelyn Y. Pettus; and his grandchildren, Jamilah, Olivia, Kareem and William Pettis. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
