She was predeceased by: her parents, James William Johnson and Alice Brice Johnson; her daughter Cheryl J. Hopkins; and her siblings, Q'lester Brice of Roscoe Brice, L. A, Olin Johnson, James W. Johnson, Jr., O. W. Brice, Jack Johnson, Johnny Mack Johnson, Maybell Fee and Ruby Johnson Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Vonnie Brown; her daughter Sabrina Kennedy; her grandchildren, Alicia Hopkins and Christopher Hopkins (Shresha); her great grandchildren, Lauren, Skyler, Kai and Ryan Hopkins; her son-in-law Lindsay Hopkins, Jr.; her sister Estelle McCrorey; her close friend Creola Franklin Peoples; and her sister Bennie Thomas (Cheryl Harden). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
