He was predeceased by: his parents, Nikolaos Sotiropoulos and Asimina Sotiropoulos. He is survived by: his wife Tina Sotiropoulos (Vlachos) of Charlotte; his sons, Nikolaos Sotiropoulos of Chicago and Peter Sotiropoulos (Diana Llamas) of Chicago; his siblings, Despoina Mitsias, Athanasia Tyrovolas and Diamandis Sotiropoulos; and his cousins, Toula Photopoulos, Tom Giannibas and Matoula Vastis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Youth Athletics in memory of Stavros Sotiropoulos.
