He was predeceased by: his parents, Nina Van Pelt Dempsey and Arthur "Jack" Francis Dempsey; and his brother David Dempsey. He is survived by: his wife Geri Dempsey; his brother Jerome Dempsey; his sons, Matt (Rachael Dempsey) and Jeff (Katie Dempsey); his grandchildren, William, Jack, Lauren and Luke Dempsey; his caregiver Katheryn; Nick Dempsey.
