He was predeceased by: his parents, Norris Brown and Margaret Haley; his sisters, Janet Farley and Janice Lewis; and his nephew Darrell Reid.
He is survived by: his siblings, Brenda Watts of Charlotte, Harriett Honeycutt (Mel) of Huntersville, Jeffery Reid of Charlotte and Kim Bailey of Charlotte; his close friends, Steve Horton and Steve Boyd; and his great-nephew Christian Reid. He is also survived by six nieces; two nephews; along with several great-nieces, great-great-nieces and great-nephews.
