Susie Morlock Obituary
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Susie Morlock (Elba Gladys Montalvo), our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on November 13, 2020.
At age 84, she died peacefully at Peak Resources of Charlotte, NC. She was born February 25, 1936 in Aguada, Puerto Rico to Juan Montalvo and Nicarona Ruiz de Feliciano and raised by her step-mother Juanita Montalvo de Martinez.
She is survived by her children: Gil Morlock of AZ, Rosanna Tsavdar (Chris) of NC, Carlos Morlock of FL and Helen Dahlem (John) of NC. Her grandchildren - From TX: Emily Brozgal (Michael) and Elizabeth Holley (John). From NC: Eric Juarez, Meredith Steele and Miranda Steele. From DE: Eric Tsavdar (Olga), Laurie Tsavdar. Her great-grandchildren - From TX: Tristan Sheetz, Kailee Brozgal, Kendall Brozgal, Carter Travelstead, Mattox Travelstead and Natalie Holley. From NC: Lundy Juarez and Dia Juarez.
Special Persons in Her Life: the late John Stephens (NC), the late Charles Morlock (NC), Blanca Juarez, Danilo Juarez, Gustavo Juarez (NC), Theresa Morlock (TX), the late Kim Cuthbertson (NC), Lori Morlock (FL), her Aguada/Aguadilla, Puerto Rico relatives (the many descendants from the Nicarona Ruiz de Feliciano family and the Juan Montalvo family), staff and residents at Wexford Assisted Living (NC), and
countless loved individuals that are too many to mention.
Susie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She owned her own beauty salon in Del Rio, Texas and worked at Lebo’s, Kmart and Walmart in Charlotte, NC.
Her love for life included cooking for her family, taking lessons at Fred Astaire Dancing Studios, teaching Latin dancing lessons, her Novelas, attending Catholic Mass and being very sociable in her community. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Susie’s life will be held around her birthday, Feb. 25, 2021, where her ashes will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Susie Morlock’s honor: Alzheimer’s Association; National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence; Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte; Humane Society of Charlotte.
