It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tyree Phillips Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on September 6, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Tyre Phillips Sr. and Ruth Boyd Phillips; and his siblings, Terry Phillips, Linda Lowery and Helen Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Cathleen Phillips; his siblings, Ozell Phillips and Pat Simmons (Fred); his aunt Josephine Stell; his sister-in-law Lucy Rivers; his children, Michelle Phillips and Travis Phillips; his daughter-in-law Denise Phillips; his grandchildren, Chris, Courtney, C'yani, Cassidy, Zaire, Jaxon and Bryson; his great grandchild Remi; his son Quinn; and his granddaughter Madison. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Park Church (6029 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. More importantly, Tyre asked to be saved during the pandemic while watching service online and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
