He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Maxwell Blackmon and William Thomas Maxwell Sr.; and his brothers, Eugene and Robert Maxwell. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Maxwell; his sister Alice Mae Blackmon; his children, Tony D. Maxwell (Laveria) and Kimberly Covington (Ellis Lenard); his grandchildren, Tatiana Gilmore, Antoneya Sloan, Artisha Chapman, Alexis Covington, Antonio Chapman, Darnell Maxwell, Kameka Lewis and Autumn Lewis; and his great grandchildren, Saint Bradley, Alayah, Tylin, Jayden and Taylor. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Victory Christian Center - Dome (7228 Kings Ridge Dr, Charlotte, NC 28217). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
