With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wilmore Henderson Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 4, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Wilmore may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Owens Henderson; his daughters, Renee Henderson of Tampa, FL and Candice Henderson of Charlotte; and his siblings, Lucy Jones (Randy) of Springfield, MA and Toney Henderson (Evelyn) of Durham. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (3724 Salem Rd, Oxford, NC 27565). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Ilong Baptist Church (4043 Fairport Rd, Kittrell, NC 27544).
