He is survived by: his parents, Buford Lee Smith and Robbie Roper Smith; his grandparents, Thurman, Elsie Roper of Whittier, Jack and Rachel Smith of Bryson City; his daughter Lauren Smith Cooper (Cody); his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Gracelynn and Oakland (Karen Edwards); and his great grandchild Rylee Rawls. He is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cultural Arts Center (86 Elk Crossing Ln, Cherokee, NC 28719). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
