She was predeceased by : her parents, Paul William Motz and Elizabeth Wilson Motz; and her sisters, Paulette Houser and Mariann Surgeon. She is survived by : her husband Ben C. Stroupe, III; her sons, Benjamin Stroupe IV (Amanda) and Bill Stroupe (Jessica); her brother Bobby Motz of Lincolnton; her grandchildren, Matt Rhodes (Jade Conner), Colton Stoupe, Reid Stroupe, Chloee Stroupe and Miles Stroupe; and her great grandchildren, Malachi Rhodes and Keelan Rhodes.
