It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Ruth Gates (Cherryville, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, June Helton and Ada Neal Helton; her husband Charles Eldon Gates; and her sister Shirley Huffstetler. She is survived by : her children, Dale Gates (Lori) and Jill Gates Brown; her grandchildren, Austin Gates, Will Gates and Courtney Brown; her nephew Neal Duncan; and her niece Kim Duncan.
