She was predeceased by : her parents, William J. Grindstaff and Hattie Greene Grindstaff; and her husband James H. Parker, Sr.. She is survived by : her children, Diane Kern (Alan) and James H. "Jimmy" Parker, Jr. (Sandy) of Cherryville; and her grandson James Alex Parker of New York.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church (3240 Tryon Courthouse Rd, Cherryville, NC 28021). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
