She was predeceased by: her sister Lisa Boyd. She is survived by: her parents, Vernon Short, Sr. of Mooresboro, NC and Anna Lawson Roper of Kings Mountain, NC; her husband Jason Smith; her daughter Layla Smith; her siblings, Vernon Short, Jr. (Heather) of Mooresboro and Lacey Fletcher (Brad) of Kings Mountain; and her close friend Regina Short (David). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
